2nd John is one of the most unpopular books of the Bible. I believe that is because it is addressed to a woman. Women in the church traditionally are expected to take a submissive role. Even to the point where that men expect every woman needs to submit to him. I boldly disagree. Women need to have the full armor of Yahuah Elohiym. Including the Sword of the Spirit.
The Apostle John is writing a letter to a woman that is an Elder in the Assembly of Believers in Yahusha. John loves this woman in Truth. This is the same kind of love that Yahuah loves the world written in John 3:16. It's also the love as in love your enemies. Loving in Truth is to say John loved her objectively. John was not bias in his love.
3-4. Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. I rejoiced greatly that I found of your children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.
The way John is speaking is that he knew her from the time Yahusha Hamashia was active in His ministry. The question is, what woman received commandment truth from Yahuah. We could ask the question what woman had a ministry of her own? In my opinion, Mary Magdalene.
5-6. And now I beseech you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk after His commandments. This is the commandment, That, as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.
Judging by John's statement, I say John is asking Mary Magdalene to love her enemies. Or even, not hating the men in the church that wanted to end Mary Magdalene's ministry.
7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
John is saying misleading leadership is antichrist. This could be leadership in the church, in government or other religions. Yahusha is the Messiah son of Joseph and the Messiah son of David.
8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
John is aware that evil entices evil to enter our bodies as believers by intentionally to make us angry.
9 Whosoever transgresses, and abides not in the doctrine of Christ, has not God. He that abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son.
John believed that Yahusha was Yahuah. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God. He was telling this Elect Lady that he loved, those who profess YHVH and not Yahusha Hamashia, does not know Yahuah Elohiym.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: for he that expresses him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
To wish someone God's speed, or any other greeting, that doesn't believe Yahusha is Yahuah and the Word of Yahuah made flesh, they are then in communion with those who's father is Satan. This Elect Lady who I believe is Mary Magdalene is an example of the Body of Believers today. There's churches that reject communion with other true believers that have another name like Bible Church and then their leadership is in communion with those who would kill Yahusha Hamashia again if it was possible.
12 Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.
One of the things that happened at the Council of Nicaea was the Editing of the Scriptures. John wrote in Revelation 22:18-19 that echoed Deuteronomy 4:2. You got to love the Son of Thunder.
"You shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall you diminish ought from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”
"For I testify unto every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
Acts 29 was deleted. This chapter tells how the Apostle Paul traveled to the British Isles. He preached in London and spoke to the Druids before seeing where Pontius Pilate died in France. The question is, did Paul see Mary Magdalene in France before continuing to travel back East? In other words, did the Apostle John see his Elect Lady before he died?
Quote; "The Book of Revelations specifically states not to add or subtract from Scripture (Revelation 22:18-19). In AD 325, the Council of Nicaea convened by the Roman Emperor Constantine removed the twenty-three [23] books contained within this volume from the Holy Bible."
13 The Children of your Elect Sister greet You. Amen
I question if the Bible was translated correctly. Here is the Greek Textus Receptus translated by Bing and Google.
Bing: Do you embrace the children of your brother and sister?
Google: Do you embrace the children of your brother and sister?
And now the Greek Morphological GNT.
Bing: Do you embrace the children of your brother and sister?
Google: it is taken from the children of your sister the chosen one
Here is verse 12 retranslated by Bing.
Many of us have written that I have been asked by paper and black, but I hope that you will come before us and mouth to mouth that you will speak of joy that has been fulfilled.
The question is, what Elect Lady visited the Apostle John?
As for Mary Magdalene, her story is a real life adventure. It should be brought to the big screen in theaters.
Mary Magdalene lived in a fishing on the seal Galilee. She was cleansed by Yahusha of demons. Traveling with Yahusha as disciple, she was mentioned more than some other disciples in the Bible. She witnessed the crucifixion and death of Yahusha. Bravely she went to the tomb before the men. She was first to see Yahusha Hamashia after the resurrection. Hated by the Jews, she was placed on a boat to drift in the Mediterranean Sea. With her was Lazarus and a black Egyptian servant named Sarah. Joseph of Arimathea was also with her. It is said that Mary Magdalene was in Glastonbury Wales where there is a street named after her. Princess Diana's ancestry is said that she descended from Joseph of Arimathea and Lazarus. Later Mary Magdalene returned to the harbor in southern France where she served with Lazarus spreading the Gospel. With them Sarah.
So who is this Elect Lady that John loved, that has been lost in history. As for me, it could only be Mary Magdalene.
I quote, "According to Eastern tradition, she accompanied St. John the Evangelist to Ephesus (near modern Selçuk, Turkey), where she died and was buried. French tradition spuriously claims that she evangelized Provence (now southeastern France) and spent her last 30 years in an Alpine cavern."
In my opinion, Mary Magdalene traveled to Ephesus and the Apostle John did see his Elect Lady Mary Magdalene. However, I believe she returned to France. It's Constantine and the Council of Nicaea that changed history to promote the Eastern Roman Empire.
I quote: "Constantinople became the capital of the Roman Empire upon the reign of Constantine I in 330. Following the collapse of the Western Roman Empire in the late 5th century, Constantinople remained the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire, the Latin Empire, and the Ottoman Empire."
In other words history cannot be trusted to politics.
