1-2) When Mary had said this, she fell silent, since it was to this point that the Savior had spoken with her. But Andrew answered and said to the brethren, Say what you wish to say about what she has said. I at least do not believe that the Savior said this. For certainly these teachings are strange ideas.
Andrew was a fisherman and a disciple of John the Baptist before becoming a follower of Yahusha. He is known as the "first-called" apostle. He was the brother of Simon Peter. We know that Andrew was a follower of Holy men. The question is, did he listen to a Holy Woman? I can believe Andrew rejected Mary Magdalene.
3-4) Peter answered and spoke concerning these same things. He questioned them about the Savior: Did He really speak privately with a woman and not openly to us? Are we to turn about and all listen to her? Did He prefer her to us?
There you have it. Two men, one later to be called Pope, invalidating what Mary Magdalene said. They were invalidating the Work of Yahusha Hamashia did with Mary Magdalene's life. By attacking her, they attack Yahusha Himself.
5) Then Mary wept and said to Peter, My brother Peter, what do you think? Do you think that I have thought this up myself in my heart, or that I am lying about the Savior?
A normal person in bondage to the seven wicked spirits would have been angry with Andrew and Peter.
6) Levi answered and said to Peter, Peter you have always been hot tempered.
Levi's accusation can be verified in Scripture. It was Pope Peter 1st that cut off the ear of Malchus, a servant of the high priest in the Garden of Gethsemane.
7-9) Now I see you contending against the woman like the adversaries. But if the Savior made her worthy, who are you indeed to reject her? Surely the Savior knows her very well. That is why He loved her more than us. Rather let us be ashamed and put on the perfect Man, and separate as He commanded us and preach the gospel, not laying down any other rule or other law beyond what the Savior said.
I quote, "Levi is Matthew, the former tax collector, a publican—someone who was contracted by the Roman government to collect taxes. As a Jew, stepping into this profession was essentially an act of betrayal to his people". We could ask a similar question. Who would you love more, a guy that denied he knew you three times and prone to violence? Or would you love a friendly woman, always doing what she could even if it would cost her everything she had?
10) And when they heard this they began to go forth to proclaim and to preach.
By Matthew saying the Truth, it set the disciples free to become Apostles.
As for Mary Magdalene, she found herself on a boat in the Mediterranean Sea. Was it betrayal by a disciple? Or was it the Jews who wanted to cover up the life of Yahusha Hamashia?
